Bandhavgarh's Iconic Tigress Doti Passes Away

Doti, a famous tigress from India's Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve known for her distinct 'D' shaped forehead mark and fearless nature, died of natural causes of old age at the Manpur buffer range. Born around 2012, Doti played a crucial role in expanding the tiger population, mothering several offspring including the famous dominant male tiger D-1. In her later years, she was displaced from her territory by her own adult daughters and moved to a new habitat where she birthed two cubs about 15-16 months ago, which are currently being monitored by reserve authorities. Forest officials confirmed through post-mortem and preliminary investigations that her death involved no foul play or poaching. Doti's legacy continues through her descendants, who maintain ecological balance and dominate the park's landscape, leaving an indelible mark on wildlife conservation and tourism.
