Sarubhakta's Poetry Resonates at 'Poetry and the Cup'

A 'Poetry and the Cup' event was held at Silauto Cottage in Anamnagar, featuring prominent writer Sarubhakta as the chief guest. Sarubhakta shared his experiences of writing location-based poems in 2055 BS in Muktinath. He emphasized the importance of writing poetry that is accessible to the common people, not just intellectual elites. He discussed the complexities of poetry by Bairagi Kainla and Indra Bahadur Rai and expressed concern over the trend of poems resembling stories. Poets including Matrika Pokhrel, Raju Ubarkot recited Sarubhakta's poems. Literary figures like Kumari Lama offered their perspectives on Sarubhakta's work. The event was coordinated by Keshav Silwal and hosted by Moktan Theba.
